Andrea has worked in the medical field for the last 25 years in the Albany area; most recently the last 15 years focusing on Diabetes, Nutrition, Metabolism and Weight Loss. She has extensive knowledge in diabetes and cardiovascular medications, disease management and nutritional/diet development. Her diligent and thorough communication with primary physicians and specialists has made The Ideal U a recommended Nutrition, Weight Loss and Diabetes Management clinic by many physicians in the area with practices in Internal Medicine, Endocrinology, Orthopedics and Women’s Health. Andrea focuses on science, health and disease education with her dieters, making sure they understand how their diet and weight loss will affect their overall health and medical diagnosis. Andrea is a native of Guilderland, NY and currently resides there with her husband and two children.

This is Cori she graduated from Ithaca College with a Master’s in Physical Therapy and has been practicing in the field for the past 9 years. She has been an avid runner since grade school, but her push into weight lifting a couple years ago peaked her interest in nutrition. She began doing a lot of research into the effects of diet on weight loss and overall health, and was amazed by the results she witnessed in her own life with just simple changes. She enjoys helping people become the better versions of themselves in her full-time work as a PT, and is excited about the potential to promote a healthy lifestyle and help others toward their weight loss goals.

This is Taylor she graduated from Russell Sage College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science. With almost ten years of health and fitness experience at a local health club Taylor began her education to learn how to properly fuel her body and the bodies of her clients for theirs and her individual activity levels. Not only can she help you reach your weight loss goals but also help clients tailor their diets to help them build strength and endurance after they have phased off of the program. With a history of being “the chubby girl” and coming from a family with weight issues, she can relate to the dieters and help them develop behaviors that will help keep the weight off and achieve an overall healthier lifestyle!

Katherine Kilrain-Hayes completed her Bachelor’s of Science degree at Union College in Psychology and Philosophy. After graduation, she served as a pastry chef at Tusca’s Grill in Troy New York, and worked for the Community Gardens/Capital Roots as a member of the Veggie Mobile. The Veggie Mobile is a mobile grocery store that provides healthy food options as well as nutritional and culinary advice to residents of low income neighborhoods. Subsequently, Katherine received her graduate degree in Nutrition Sciences from Russell Sage College and served as the resident nutritionist for the No Boundaries Running Program at Fleet Feet Albany. While working for Fleet Feet, she provided small group seminars to new and experienced runners on how best to prepare for their races, manage their weight and live a healthy lifestyle. Katherine’s focus is not only on helping individuals live healthy lives through better food choices, but also showing them how those food choices can be delicious and satisfying as well.

Amber has a Bachelor’s in Nutrition Science from Russell Sage College, is a certified health coach, and is a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified personal trainer. In her own words, “I have always been very passionate about the importance of physical fitness and proper nutrition. Because of my own struggles with weight and finding a healthy balance, I can relate a lot to clients who are struggling to reach their goals. The education component is critical to creating and maintaining a health lifestyle. Claire graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Nutrition Science from Russell Sage College and is currently completing her Dietetic Internship. She joins us with over ten years of food service and hospitality experience in both senior dining and college campus settings within the Capital District. Claire’s interest in nutrition deepened when she was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. This condition piqued her interest in understanding the interaction of food in the digestive system as well as its overall effect on the body’s health. More importantly it increased her drive to further her education to be a Registered Dietitian so she can assist those with health concerns to make better food choices that will ultimately promote a healthier well being.

Tabitha graduated from Russell Sage College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Science. Since graduating, she has provided nutrition education in several community settings. Tabitha developed a passion for nutrition and weight loss due to her own journey. In high school, she hit her highest weight of almost 300 lbs. Through her own research and weight loss strategies she lost over 120 pounds and found a drive to help others reach their goals!

Jessica Edmonds is a Colonie native who started at The Ideal U in 2019. She graduated from SUNY Brockport with a major in Exercise Physiology in 2015. As a certified exercise physiologist, Jessica has dedicated her career to fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle coaching. She focused primarily on weight management and functional movement, placing her client’s overall health as a top priority. Jessica has brought her same passion for health to The Ideal U where you can find her helping others make the best nutrition and lifestyle choices to reach their weight loss goals.
